The acoustic neuroma is a benign tumour that usually affects the vestibular portion of the vestibulocochlear nerve. It represents 8% of all intracranial tumours and 80% of those arising at the cerebellopontine angle. The authors report the results of a series of 16 cases of low-grade gliomas in whom radiosurgery was performed. This series started in 1977. All the tumours received a single radiosurgical session (with a mean dose of 21.7 Gy, 5–10mm. collimator; one patient received two sessions and in another patient two different targets were irradiated in the same session). Abstract Cavernous malformations are recognized as the most common vascular anomalies in the brain, that often lead to hemorrhage with neurological symptoms. Usually the treatment is surgical removal or stereotactic radiotherapy. We present a case of a slow-flow vascular anomaly located in the cavernous sinus with recurrent partial thrombotic areas. Inspired by treatment of peripheral venous anomalies antithrombotic therapy was initiated instead of surgery or stereotactic radiotherapy.
